The Barcelona Building Construmat, the International Building Exhibition of Fira de Barcelona (Gran Vía) was held on 23rd and 26th May. The 3rd European BIM Summit Barcelona, the BIM, organized by BIM Academy, CAATEEB and buildingSMART Spanish Chapter.
The inauguration of this third edition of EBS Barcelona 2017 was the Conseller de Sostenibilitat de Catalunya, Josep Rull. During his keynote address, Rull noted BIM’s ability to reduce costs and gain efficiency in construction were basic elements for its implementation in the private sector. An edition where more than 500 specialists participated.
During the event there were different conferences and workshops on the implementation of BIM in Catalonia, Spain and the EU, the need to create usage standards and the use of BIM in Facility Management or in hospital projects. In addition to focusing on the contribution that BIM makes in the digital economy: collaborative processes or digitization in the different phases of construction. In this edition of EBS Barcelona, the invited country has been France and we have been able to know, first hand, the experience of this country with BIM.
NIBUG is already waiting for the next edition of EBS Barcelona in which the invited country will be Germany, as announced by Ignasi Pérez Arnal, creator of EBS with CAATEEB and NIBUG development coordinator.
