Yesterday the conclusions of the past EBS 2017 were presented at the Roca Gallery in Barcelona. The EBS 2017 was held on 25 and 26 May within the Barcelona Building Construmat.

During the event, Sergio Muñoz, currently Secretary of the buildingSMART Spanish Chapter, spoke about the BIM Observatory that was created during the last EBS 2017. In addition to talking about the three main thrusts where BIM has to be structured: training, public administration, and the private company. Muñoz did an analysis on the situation of BIM and the need to create the observatory to have a tool of a diagnostic sector and to be able to monitor the use of BIM in Europe.

Ignasi Pérez Arnal, content director of BIM Academy, presented the data and evolution of EBS 2017 during the three consecutive editions. To conclude the EBS 2017 conclusions, a debate was held on “BIM already affects the industrial construction sector. Will it bring more market?”. In the debate appeared different topics as: the value of the importance of the quality of the objects to bring quality to the model, the change that must be generated therefore, it should be the property who must propose and request the information in a determined way to the rest of agents and the importance of promoting collaborative work, as it is the reason for BIM.
